In the initial leg up from the early June lows, $FTSE also performed relatively well.
By contrast, over the last month, $FTSE's performance hasn't just been relatively muted, it's been negative.
Major Asian indices, which have generally under-performed through the summer rally, are perking up more than $FTSE in the month of September.
If the muted decline and relative out-performance which preceded the summer rally were a positive signal, is $FTSE now offering a warning heading into the fall?
